DC Father Daughter Dance

Desperation Church had its annual Father Daughter dance and Jay naturally took both of his precious daughters. They got all dressed up and he bought them both very tiny boutineers and off they went to the dance. I got to go to help him watch whatever child he wasn't dancing with and to be the photographer. The night started with getting their pictures taken by the lovely Miss Vera Hopper. Then they began dancing the night away. Taylor, as the first born, got the honor of the first dance with her daddy.

That didn't last very long. She decided it was much more fun to dance by herself. Off she went like a spinning top. We had a hard time keeping her off of the stage. It seemed as though she wanted more to perform than to simply dance in her own space. I guess she's got quite a bit of her Nanna in her!

At this point Jay was able to pay all of his attention on the newest addition to the family, Bella! By this time they were playing games for door prizes. Bella won her daddy a gift card to Chipotle by being the youngest daughter at the dance. He let her give victory a "taste" before we safely stashed away the gift card.

Taylor decided that dancing with her daddy wasn't so bad after all so she rejoined the party (after we gave her some chocolate dipped snacks) and boogied down with her daddy. I think she was in it more for the thrill ride than the actual dancing. Too bad Jay doesn't dance with me like this. I think it would be funny to see how red his face would turn trying to lift me up like this!!!

Jay gets ditched again for the stage. This time he and Bella get some good quality dancing time in. Bella LOVED dancing with her daddy. That baby smiled and laughed as she twirled around and was hoisted up into the air. Jay looked like a kid at the fair when he was dancing with her as well.

They had a dance tunnel that all of the dads had to dance through and were judged based on applause. Jay totally cheesed out and went through with a few impromptu friends. Our daughter, the ham, totally took the opportunity to show off and went through not once, not twice, but three times! She was SO CUTE!!!!

What could be more fun than dancing through the tunnel, spinning around until you can't stand, and having chocolate dipped goodies??? Why dancing with Pastor Michael of course! At the end of the dance they had a song where you were to switch dance partners every time the DJ called out "switch". Taylor made a B-line for Pastor Michael and was so thrilled to get to dance with him. This is one of her prized pictures!
